Hi, I’m John Csiszar.

For most of my career, I sat on the other side of the table, helping people make financial decisions during uncertain markets.

I spent 17 years as an investment adviser and earned my CFP® designation in 1996, guiding clients through portfolio strategy, risk management and retirement planning across multiple market cycles. Those years shaped how I think about money — not as theory, but as something that directly affects people’s lives and futures.

Today I bring that perspective to financial writing.

For more than 16 years, I’ve written personal finance and investing coverage for outlets including Yahoo Finance, LendingTree, GoBankingRates, MSN and AOL, translating complex developments like interest rate changes, tax policy updates and market volatility into clear, practical explanations.

I approach writing the same way I approached advising clients: focusing on clarity, trade-offs and what financial changes actually mean for people’s decisions.

If you’re looking for thoughtful, authoritative financial content grounded in real-world advisory experience, you’re in the right place.

I’m available for select freelance engagements including financial journalism, blog content and thought leadership for financial services firms.
